What is SEO and why is it important?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. To put it simply, it means the process of improving your site to increase its visibility for relevant searches.
A real life example of this is involving our old website Video The Day. We decided to rank for ‘Wedding Videography South Wales’ and we did really well and still do. We rank approx number 8.
After putting some SEO tools in place, we soon realized that what a lot of people were searching for was ‘Wedding Videographer South Wales’. When I say a lot of people, I mean, a lot of people. This term was searched 5 times more that our original term. We naturally ranked pretty well, but needed improvement. We ended ranking approx number 6.
As this was our old website that we still keep around our position has dropped slightly. That’s because we know longer keep up to date with monthly optimisation. And thats why it's important to keep your on top of your SEO each month. After our initial setup month, you can stop there with our services and carry on yourself, but we all know you're busy running your business.

Here is a little taste of what we will do with our SEO Cardiff services. This will take us one month to do.
First of all we will meet and discuss what keywords you would like to rank for. Once we have established this we will go to work. We break it down into two areas. On-site and Off-site. We first look at On-site. We will audit your site, make sure there are no broken internal and external links. We will make sure your site is search engine friendly and structured correctly. Then we look at your content. Content is king, so we will make sure your site actually has enough content on the pages, we optimise images as well to help perform for your keywords. Once we’re happy with the content, we look at other factors that might effect your ranking such as web hosting performance and security. We highly recommend that you have an SSL certificate on your site. If you don’t this charge will be extra, usually £25 per year. Your web hosting might already include it in your package. This charge is from your web hosting company not us. We also setup a blog on your site so you can have regular content.
Once we’re happy with On-site we move onto Off-site. We will make sure your business has consistency across the web. Set you up on Google My Business and Bing business. Then we start getting backlinks.
Our initial setup is for one month, once it is complete you can either stay with us and move onto our monthly SEO services or carry on as you were and you can create monthly blog posts internally and externally and work on getting more blog posts.
To increase your rank on Google and other search engines is definitely a marathon and not a sprint. On average it takes 100 days to see major results. To get these results you will need to do monthly SEO, our initial service will help but it will take ongoing work.
Search engines like regular content. We will create monthly blog posts both on your site and external blogs as well as one infographic. We will monitor the keywords. We will always recommend ranking for other keywords that might be more popular for your area of business. We will also keep on getting backlinks for your business.
